Staff – How to setup Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Compass

In order for staff to access Compass, MFA is required. The preferred method is using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, with your phone number as a secondary/fallback method of MFA.

Important: Please setup a primary and secondary method of MFA, to ensure you don’t lose access to Compass if your Microsoft Authenticator app stops working i.e. You get a new phone.

For setup, you will need a computer and your phone. Follow the relevant steps, taking note of which steps are required on your computer and phone.

Setting up Primary Method (Microsoft Authenticator)

Setting up Secondary Method (SMS)

1. Go to mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and select Add sign-in method, then select phone.​​​​​​​

2. Select Australia (+61), Check Text me a code (or Call me for phone), add your mobile phone number. Click Next

3. Enter the 6 digit code you should have received via SMS on your mobile phone. Click Next

4. Click Done
